  • Portsmouth 0-1 Manchester City :Adebayor again

Emmanuel Adebayor scored his third goal in three Premier League outings for Manchester City today, as his side triumphed 1-0 over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

The striker attributed his ease at settling in at his new club since his summer move from Arsenal to the fact that he is surrounded by people at Eastlands who believe in him, and want him to express himself on the pitch.

"They believe in me. They believe in my ability and at the moment I'm just working hard for the team, and everything's going on for me very well, and for the club as well," the striker told Sky Sports News.

"We've won three games, so we're very happy. The most important thing is to keep on going, and keep on enjoying ourselves on the pitch."

City are the only side not to have conceded a goal in the domestic league so far, and have made the early season running after a positive start to a campaign in which many observers had predicted problems for manager Mark Hughes in getting so many expensive acquisitions to gel as a team.

Next up for the Citizens are Adebayor's former employers, as Arsenal travel north to Eastlands on September 12.
