  • Burnley 1-3 Wigan Athletic: Lost home record

Burnley lost their impressive 100 per cent home record after slipping to a 3-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic at Turf Moor.

Steven Fletcher put the hosts ahead early on but a brace from Hugo Rodallega was followed by an Emerson Boyce strike as Wigan roared back to take all three points and jump to 10th place in the Premier League table.

For the second time in consecutive matches Burnley struck early, Fletcher managing to outdo Robbie Blake, who opened the scoring against Blackburn last weekend in the fifth minute. This time it took just four minutes to break the deadlock.

The hosts were left to rue that miss as Boyce put the game beyond their reach with Wigan's third on 76 minutes, tapping home from close range after Paul Scharner had flicked on a corner at the near post.

Clarke Carlisle bounced a header onto the top of Kirkland's crossbar with 10 minutes remaining, but the damage had already been done and Burnley's proud home run came to an end.
