  • Aston Villa 5-2 Burnley: Downing double

Burnley's woeful Premier League away form continued after they were comprehensively beaten 5-2 by Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Steven Fletcher opened the scoring to give the Clarets hope of adding to the solitary point that they have accrued in their travels, before Ashley Young equalised for Villa.

Burnley had the game snatched away from them after the break as Villa scored four goals in 12 minutes courtesy of a quick-fire brace from Stewart Downing and one each from Gabriel Agbonlahor and Emile Heskey.

Substitute Martin Paterson scored a stoppage time consolation for Brian Laws's side, but there is little sign of a cure for Burnley's travel sickness on this showing.
