  • Atletico Madrid 2-1 Fulham: Forlan double

    Atletico Madrid came out as champions in the inaugural edition of the Europa League. In the finals, Wednesday (12/05/2010), Atletico beat Fulham 2-1 through extra time round.

    In a match that held in the HSH Nordbank Arena became the Atletico hero is Diego Forlan buy up two goals with his team victory. Fulham goal scored by Simon Davies.

    For Los Colchoneros, this is a trophy Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup) in a 71-year history of the first club based at Vicente Calderon stadium. And for Fulham deep disappointment because it failed to present the trophy in the 131-year history of the club.

    2-1 score stood until any sign of the end of the long whistle sounded and the match Atletico came out as winners.
