  • Barcelona 4-0 Sevilla: Messi hat-trick

    Barcelona sriker Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick to determine his team 4-0 victory over Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup second leg, Saturday (8/21/2010). Remembering the first leg they lost 1-3 at Sevilla, Barcelona also has the right title.

    Although looks superior, Barcelona could not get the victory easily. At least, during the first ten minutes, they exchanged threats with Sevilla, with no solution.

    Deadlock was finally broken in the 13th minute, when Abdoulay Konko one Pedro anticipating a cross, so the ball into his own goal.

    Barcelona made the moment to increase pressure and after several unsuccessful attempts, they managed to double the advantage through Lionel Messi in the 25th minute. Having mastered the bait breakthrough Xavi, Messi dribbled into the penalty box and release the kick that failed accuracy driven Palop.



    Being broken twice in less than 15 minutes to force Sevilla down tempo and rearrange their game. Although successful in reducing the power of attack your opponent, Sevilla failed to escape the third goal scored Barcelona's Lionel Messi on 43 minutes.

    Goal originated from the Dani Aves movement in the left sector Sevilla defense. He then took off the bait breakthrough into the penalty box, who managed to reach Messi and kicked into the upper right corner of goalkeeper Palop.

    With relatively little time remaining, Barcelona continued to launch attacks. However, the numbers 3-0 on the scoreboard never changed until the halftime whistle sounded.

    Entering the second half, Barcelona continued their efforts to suppress opponents. The result, though not entirely free of threats, they are able to create a number of chances which unfortunately did not turn into goals.

    At minute 52, for example, Messi dribbled past Konko and Escude, before finally sending a shot that strayed from the target landscape.

    Ten minutes later, Andres Iniesta's turn to endanger the goal of Seville. In cooperation with one or two of Messi, Iniesta fired a shot which was also not vibrating mesh wall next to the Sevilla goal.

    David Villa's effort on 77 minutes also failed to produce touchdowns. Utilizing bait Messi, Villa fired accurately, which unfortunately still can be denied by Palop.

    With time running out, Barcelona refused to lower the intensity of the game and continue to look for goals. However, the long whistle sounded from the numbers listed on the scoreboard 4-0.
