  • Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Everton: Baines great free-kick, Van der Vaart scored

    Tottenham Hotspur climbed to third position Premier League standings, past Arsenal and Manchester United (MU), after a 1-1 draw with Everton at White Hart Lane on Saturday (23/10/2010). This happened thanks to a single goal from Rafael van der Vaart.

    Playing as the host, Tottenham left earlier due to Leighton Baines scored in the 17th minute. Believed to execute a free kick, Baines sent a ball into the corner over goalkeeper Gomes.

    The advantage did not last long. In the 20th minute, Van der Vaart managed to Peter Crouch grabbed the bait and fired the ball into goalkeeper Tim Howard.



    The position of equilibrium makes the game more heat. Besides frequently involved grabbing the ball, both camps also are equally trying to launch an attack once mastered.
