  • Chelsea 0-3 Sunderland: Onuoha brilliant-goal, Gyan clinical-finish

Sunderland are surprisingly successful bending Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (14/11/2010) . The Black Cats beat the Blues by a score of 3-0.

Nedum Onuoha, Asamoah Gyan, and Danny Welbeck became Sunderland star thanks to a goal-goal to give Chelsea's first home defeat this season.

Thus the defending champions have lost three times, but which today is the worst. Previously they were subdued Manchester City (0-1) and Liverpool (0-2) in place of their opponents.

Yet their position at the top of the standings did not change. With 28 points from 13 matches, Carlo Ancelotti's farm team still two points ahead of second ranked team, Arsenal, which in today's thin win Everton 2-1 at home.

As for Sunderland, who at the party before a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, climbed three rungs to number six with a value of 19. Another note for Steve Bruce's troops are, it's the first time since more than nine years ago they can beat Chelsea.

    Chelsea badly behind

Absence of a series of key players to make Chelsea have no teeth in front of his own supporters. John Obi Mikel like to work alone in midfield, to the extent that Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka to go down far enough to pick up the ball.

The worst is behind their lines. The absence of John Terry and Alex because of an injury forcing Ancelotti made two full back, Paulo Ferreira and Branislav Ivanovic, as a central defender.

Chelsea initially appear promising through an attack that was built Mikel. Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon out boldly to catch a ball that almost mastered Anelka.

Yuri Zhirkov also makes a hard shot from the right side of the Sunderland penalty box, but her slightly off the mark.

Since then the Sunderland game back in control. Welbeck create the first chance for the visitors with a header that can still be hard pushed over Cech. A few minutes later Welbeck test Cech again after receiving feedback from Gyan, and the Chelsea goalkeeper beat it again.

Chelsea's Ivanovic was lucky not to lose even if he commits an offense to Welbeck who are already in a good position to score. The referee just gave the Serbian defender a yellow card.

Duet Welbeck and Gyan make Cech did rescue the third. Czech Republic goalkeeper made crucial fourth rescue by holding Kieran Richardson's shot with his foot.

Cech toughness ending at the last minute first half. Individual action from Onuoha, by conquering Mikel, Bosingwa and Ivanovic, followed by a flat cross-kick to the far post, and Cech was powerless to stop it. Sunderland 1-0 lead, Chelsea had failed to carve a new record for clean sheets record 10 times in a row in league matches. Cech was finally conceded also at Stamford Bridge.

After the break Chelsea's like going to rise. But they even left behind 0-2 in minute 52. The second goal reflects how weak coordination in the back row "The Blue". Bait tick-not Jordan Henderson to Welbeck unstoppable, and Gyan brilliant opportunity to complete it with a kick is not too hard but enough to make Cech picked from the net.

Ancelotti include Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda interesting to look for possibilities to change the game. Two teenage players. Joshua McEachran and Gael Kakuta, also played well lately.

But it all does not produce a significant change for Chelsea. Defense remains a weak point, and misunderstandings between Ashley Cole, Cech and Ivanovic, Chelsea conceded for the third time in minute 87.

Cech hurried out of position when Cole did backpass, and Ivanovic already off Welbeck. Three things that allow scope for Welbeck grabbed the ball from close range and change the position to be 3-0, and Sunderland can feel again the victory over Chelsea for the first time since March 2001.
