  • Sunderland 2-2 Everton: Welbeck double, Cahill, Arteta scored

Everton grabs vital point on their away games against Sunderland, at Stadium of Light on Monday, 22/11/2010. At entertaining game both teams spoils point with final score 2-2.

Daniel Welbeck added to his burgeoning reputation with goals in each half as Sunderland looked to have overcome Tim Cahill’s sixth-minute opener.

But Mikel Arteta netted a heavily-deflected effort late on, while both sides missed last-gasp sitters as - with Darren Bent totally free - Welbeck spurned the opportunity to walk away with the match ball and Everton substitute Jermaine Beckford hammered over with the last act of the game.

The result puts Everton 14th, above Birmingham on goal difference, while Sunderland - who have only lost twice this season - stay seventh after throwing away a late lead for the third time this campaign.

Both sides have a good run of form now, with Sunderland losing just one game in the last 12 and Everton's defeat to Arsenal last time out their only loss in nine.

    Team Line-up:

Sunderland: Gordon, Onuoha, Turner, Ferdinand, Bardsley, Richardson, Henderson, Cattermole, Zenden, Bent, Welbeck; Subs: Mignolet, Malbranque, Angeleri, Da Silva, Riveros, Elmohamady, Adams
