Schalke3-1 Valencia: Farfan great free-kick & chip
Schalke finally ensure a place in the quarterfinals after 3-1 win over Valencia. Overall, aggregate superior Schalke 4-2.
In the match at the Veltins Arena on Wednesday (09/03/2011) Valencia actually appear relatively more dominant. They won control of the ball 59:41 and fired more (12 versus 10), but Schalke is more efficient in taking advantage of opportunities.
Valencia had superior first through Ricardo Costa, but Schalke got two goals goal by Jefferson Farfan and one of Mario Gavranovic. His second goal to make the host finally qualified for the last eight after the first leg at the Mestalla to play as strong 1-1.
The game
