  • Blackburn 1-1 Birmingham: Bowyer, Hoilett scored

Blackburn came from a goal behind to earn a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Birmingham in their Premier League clash at Ewood Park, Saturday, 09/04/2011.
Birmingham took the lead in controversial circumstances after the linesman ruled Lee Bowyer’s close-range header onside in the 32nd minute.

Sebastian Larsson came close to doubling the visitors’ lead in the 44th minute – curling a spectacular freekick against the inside of the right post – but some calamitous defending allowed David Hoilett to fire Blackburn back to level terms in the last minute of first-half stoppage time.

Roque Santa Cruz then hit the crossbar for the hosts with a close-range head in the second half, but neither side managed to make another breakthrough to claim three vital points to steer clear of the Premier League relegation battle.
