  • Aston Villa 3-1 Blackburn: Agbonlahor, Heskey, Bent superb-finish

    Aston Villa managed to rush to the top of the Premier League standings after a crushing 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (08/20/2011).

    Villa Value is the same with Liverpool and Newcastle (4 points). However, they are entitled to be on top on goal difference. Outstanding Villa can still be shifted by Manchester United and Manchester City will play tomorrow, Sunday (21/08/2011).

    Villa scored his first goal in the 12th minute. Receiving feedback Darren Bent, Gabriel Agbonlahor struck the ball into the top right corner of Blackburn goalkeeper with his right foot.

    Not satisfied with one goal, Villa continued to threaten to score the second goal. Unfortunately, the chances of Bent and Agbonlahor in the 21st minute was saved by goalkeeper Paul Robinson.



    Four minutes later, the hosts finally able to increase the advantage. This time the creators of Agbonlahor after giving feedback to Emile Heskey who then beat Robinson with his right foot.

    Blackburn tried to retaliate immediately. Unfortunately, the chances of David Dunn in the 30th minute was saved by home goalkeeper, Shay Given.

    The visitors could only minimize the position in the 52nd minute through the action of Morten Gamst Pedersen. Receiving a cross from David Hoilett, Pedersen grabbed the ball with a header.

    However, Villa returned to widen the distance in the 67th minute. Grant Hanley less perfect in anticipation of a fruitful ball blunders. The ball fell to the foot of Bent who mercilessly Robinson goalkeeper with his left foot.

    Although capable of pressing defense Villa, Blackburn was unable to score a goal to minimize losses. Position 3-1 last until the end of the game.
