An entertaining affair at the DW Stadium, Saturday 13/08/2011, saw newly promoted Norwich City grab a point against Wigan Athletic in a 1-1 draw on their return to the Premier League.
Wigan took the lead in the 21st minute as Ben Watson emphatically dispatched a penalty after Richie De Laet had hauled down Wigan striker Franco Di Santo in the box. The Latics gained the lead against the run of play as Norwich has started the brighter of the two teams.

Yet the Canaries got back into the game as half-time approached getting their just rewards when Steve Morison’s fine run and cross down the right was spilled by Ali Al Habsi. Wes Hoolahan was on hand to smash home from six yards out to grab a point for Norwich on the opening day.
