  • Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Rubin Kazan: Pavlyuchenko free-kick

Roman Pavlyuchenko provided Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp with a timely reminder of his talents by smashing home a brilliant free-kick to give Spurs the lead in tonight's Europa League game against Rubin Kazan at White Hart Lane.

The Russian striker, who has rarely featured for Spurs this term, blasted in a 20-yard strike into the top corner for his second goal of the season.

Russian side Rubin would have gone ahead early on had recalled Spurs stopper Heurelho Gomes not denied Gokdeniz Karadeniz with a superb point-blank save.

Heurelho Gomes made his third start of the season as Tottenham looked to move top of Europa League Group A with victory over Rubin Kazan at White Hart Lane, Thursday 20/10/2011.
