  • Wolverhampton 1-1 Blackburn: Blake late vital equaliser

A late equaliser from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake saw Wolves snatch a vital point in their Premier League clash with Blackburn at Molineux.

With both teams struggling for wins, and Wolves having failed to score a goal in their previous four Premier League matches, all signs were pointing to a draw at the Molineux.

A bright start from Wolves saw the hosts move the ball around well, but fail to find a final ball to test Paul Robinson on his 300th Premier League appearance.

That lack of a cutting edge would prove costly in the 28th minute, as Morten Gamst Pederson whipped in a beautiful corner to the far-post, which Wolves' goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann could only flap at and Blackburn skipper Ryan Nelson bundled in at the far post.

Having already struck the post through Nikola Kalinic, it was a lead that Blackburn wholly deserved, and the visitors continued to press for a second.

However, with Premier League survival at stake, Wolves threw caution to the wind by introducing Ebanks-Blake with 10 minutes remaining, and the change immediately paid dividends as the striker rose to head in off the post with his first touch.

The importance of the goal was not lost on the home fans, and the final whistle saw joyous scenes as only three wins for Burnley from their remaining three games can threaten Wolves' survival now.
