  • Westham 4-0 Manchester United: Spector, Cole double

    Manchester United failed to record a hat-trick in Carling Cup. Step 'Red Devils' season was stopped in the fifth round after the hit West Ham 4-0.

    Over the last two seasons, MU is always successful English League Cup champion. If in the final in 2009 they successfully beat Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United became champions last year by beating Aston Villa.

    However, efforts to extend MU record of success for the third time this season was over on Tuesday (30/1/2010) , along with a major defeat over West Ham.

    Two goals from Jonathan Spector and Carlton Cole at Upton Park make the MU should be stopped in the fifth round English League Cup 2010-11, while West Ham advanced to the semifinals.



    The game

    Manchester United started with promise after Gabriel Obertan kick by goalkeeper Robert Green who hit the goalpost West Ham on seven minutes.

    West Ham back in the 16th minute through Victor Obinna. He delivered a kick which hit Chris Smalling and Jonathan Spector before getting into Chelsea's goal. But the linesman raised the flag.

    The advantage only really finally won at West Ham on 22 minutes. After receiving the ball from Obinna, Spector managed to send the ball past Tomasz Kuszczak . West Ham 1-0.

    Spector, a former Manchester United player to increase the advantage his team at minute 38. This time he break Chelsea's goal for the second time from close range after receiving the ball, yet again, from Obinna.

    In the second half, precisely at minute 56, West Ham a 3-0 lead. Obinna back to being the creator, this time through maximized by Carlton Cole header.

    MU increasingly immersed in minute 67. Cole's second goal made after outwit Jonny Evans to change the score to 4-0.
