  • Malaysia All-Stars 0-1 Chelsea: Drogba free-kick

Chelsea win through controversial Didier Drogba free-kick, the ball from reply show that not fully cross the line, on their Asian Tour 2011, playing against Malaysian All Star, Thursday 21/07/2011.

Chelsea were the dominant side throughout the entire 90 minutes but were unable to convert a host of chances, until Didier Drogba's controversial 80th minute free-kick rebounded off the post, hit goalkeeper Tarmizi Roslan and rebounded back into danger - the goal stood even though the keeper appeared to claw it off the line..

Chelsea dominated the opening half from the first whistle, barely allowing the Malaysian All-Stars to string more than a hand full of passes together at any one point.

The Blues were totally comfortable with the ball, despite the relatively poor pitch, but lacked any urgency or finesse in the final third. They often found themselves deep in their opponents half but really struggled in creating decent chances.

    The Game
79' GOAL!! Drogba's free kick cannons off the far post before hitting the keepers legs and bouncing back towards the goal. The linesman gives the goal but it didn't appear to have crossed the line.
74' Chalobah gives the ball away on the edge of the area. Fazail latches onto the wayward pass and shoots towards goal. It flies just wide.
71' Zhirkov's corner is met by Terry again but the defender puts the header wide.
70' Big chance!! Sturridge uses a burst of pace to get past the defender. He goes through one-on-one but can't beat the keeper. Good save again.
69' Zhirkov's free-kick is met by Terry on the six yard box. The defender's jump is not timed right and the header is sent over the bar.
67' Fazail produces a few step-overs and passes to Ibrahim who is on the left. The striker takes a touch before shooting. The ball flies just over the bar.
60' Terry intercepts a pass in his own half and bursts into the Malaysian half. The defender shifts the ball across to Anelka and continues his run. The sriker tries to pull it back for JT but it's well read.
49' The ball bounces around the edge of the Malaysian penalty area. Mikel races to it and strikes a half-volley towards goal. It flies about a foot past the far post.
45+2' Another great chance. Van Aanholt plays a one-two with Malouda on his way into the penalty area and shoots. Marlias is down well for the first time in the game to save.
45+1' Big Chance. Torres crosses for Benayoun at the back post. The Israeli takes a touch before shooting. Azmi comes across to block.
42' Torres flicks the ball around the corner for Kalou who is free in the penalty area. Kalou squares for Lampard but the England midfielder is unable to get anything on the cross.
40' Torres shows glimpses of his former self and cuts in from the left, nutmegging one defender before shooting. It's blocked and goes out for a corner.
28' There's a bit of a scramble in the Malaysian box before Torres has a header on target. The keeper scurries back to his line to claim.
19' Bosingwa and Benayoun exchange a few neat passes down the right hand side before the ball is moved into the centre. Kalou feeds Torres into the box but the striker puts his right-footed shot wide from a tight angle.
17' McEachran feeds Bertrand down the left who crosses first time. The captain Misbah loses control in his penalty area which allows Lampard to shoot from 15 yards. It flies wide.
3' Great chance. The pitch enables Chelsea to go on the attack. Benayoun collects a loose ball and squares it to Lampard. The captain feeds Torres who shoots first time. The keeper makes the save.
