  • Barcelona 5-0 Villarreal: Messi great-double, Sanchez, Fabregas great-finsih

    Barcelona opened the 2011/2012 season with brilliant results. Face Villarreal at home, Pep Guardiola's squad won five goals without reply.

    Compete at Camp Nou on Monday (08/29/2011), Barca play Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas as a starter. While Xavi Hernandez and David Villa kept on the bench.

    In the first half, Barca had a 2-0 lead. Two goals contributed by Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas.

    Azulgrana added three goals after halftime. Lionel Messi scored two goals, one other goal was created by Alexis Sanchez.

    With this result, Barca sitting in second place the Spanish league standings with three points. Collection of those same points with Real Madrid, but Madrid has a better goal difference. Villarreal ranked 19th with zero points.



    The game

    The first threat comes home team in the sixth minute. However, the shot of San Chez was easily tamed by goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
