  • Aston Villa 0-1 Manchester United: Jones great-strike

    Manchester United claimed a 1-0 victory when they travel to the headquarters of Aston Villa, Villa Park, Satunrday (03/12/2011). The Red Devils' only goal was created by Phil Jones in the first half.

    The only goal of Manchester United in this match is created through the right foot Jones in the 19th minute. Goals are created after an attack that was built neat MU players ended with a cross by Nani from the left side.

    Jones, who moves up the bait it, grabbed the ball with his right foot flick. Shay Given was able to block the ball into the goal and United were 1-0 up. For the record, this is Jones' first goal and first goal for Manchester United in the Premier League during his career.

    Prior to these goals, Manchester United lost Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez. Mexican striker suffered an ankle injury and eventually was replaced by Antonio Valencia.

    The entry of Valencia, plus the presence of Nani and Ashley Young in the starting XI, making the 'Red Devils' doing a lot of invasion from the side of the field. However, several punctures to the Villa defense has not produced results.

    Meanwhile, Villa remain in the order of eight standings with a collection of 16.

    For United, this is the fourth 1-0 win in the last five games. Previously, they won with a similar score for Everton, Sunderland, and Swansea City.
