  • Sunderland 1-0 Manchester City: Ji Won dramatic-goal

    Manchester City failed to move away from the pursuit of Manchester United after a 0-1 defeat of Sunderland in the Premier League match on Sunday (01/01/2012). This defeat was so tragic because the goals scored by Sunderland created in the injury time.

    These results are indeed defend City in the first position with 45 points. But they are only on goal difference from Manchester United are stalking in the second position. While Sunderland, had to settle for sitting in 15th position with 19 points.

    Sunderland City back line capable of surprising in the 3rd minute. Through the scheme behind the attacks, Nicklas Bendtner could be separated from the Guard and City players stayed facing one on one with goalkeeper Joe Hart. In this battle, Bendtner had to admit that Joe Hart mempu toughness to block the ball shot the former Arsenal striker.

    In the 5th minute, turn opportunities James McClean who thwarted by Joe Hart. McClean kick from outside the box could be tempered by the England goalkeeper.



    City tries to threaten the goal behind the host. However, solid defense applied by Wes Brown et al make the cast of "The Citizens" can not do much. The attack which they set can always be broken by Sunderland defender.

    City could only get a chance at minute 32. Utilizing the wild ball, Edin Dzeko had fired Sunderland kick toward the goal. However, these opportunities failed to bear fruit goal after the ball successfully blocked by Simon Mignolet.

    Opportunities Samir Nasri also failed to make the City the lead. Nasri kicks the ball right leg was not able to be driven by the goalkeeper, but still able to be swept clean by Craig Gardner.

    The result, front-line City look more alive. Even in the 58th minute, Aguero almost make City the lead. Unfortunately, the kick is still capable countered by Mignolet.

    Sunderland retaliated in the 65th minute. Bait header from Bendtner able mastered by Stephane Sessegnon who outsmarts Vincent Kompany and then release the ball with his right leg kick. Opportunity again failed to be utilized only after the ball deviated slightly to the left goalpost Sunderland.

    City remain in control of the game. However, again the host makes a sturdy defense of the City players looked frustrated. Few opportunities to obtain "The Citizens" must end in vain because of a rush in executing the occasion.

    City had a golden opportunity in the 89th minute goal but still failed to bear fruit. Kick from David Silva successfully countered by Mignolet. Micah Richards is trying to harness ball gag also had to swallow the disappointment of a header just after the ball hit the crossbar.

    At the time the game is almost over, Sunderland made a surprise by scoring the winning goal. Ji Dong Won is a replacement that makes City to go home with disappointment after the successful use of bait from Sessegnon. Before scoring, Ji Won managed to fool Joe Hart who performed quite brilliantly throughout the game.
